Alice

Myself

No
Have you ever abandoned your English name? What was the reason?
No
Does your name ever give you any funny, embarrassing, or uncomfortable experiences?
Not really, just many people couldn’t pronounce my name correctly even after I teach them several times, so out of desperation, now I just go by alice for convenience purposes.
Do you prefer your Chinese name or your English name? Which name better represents your own identity?
To be honest I don’t really like how my Chinese name is a combination of my parents’ names. I am an individual, not a witness gift of you two’s romantic relationship. But even so, my Chinese name is me, and my English name is more like a code name to make it easier to be identified, like a chameleon hiding itself in the color of the bark of a tree. I hide my Asian identity in this easily accepted popular American girl name, obediently allowing a part of myself to be dissolved.
